In the final confrontation, Ahmanet nearly succeeds in sacrificing Nick to bring Set into the world. However, Nick, unwilling to become a monster’s puppet, turns the tables on her. He plunges the Dagger of Set into his own chest instead, sacrificing himself to destroy Ahmanet. In doing so, he doesn’t die—he is reborn. Nick rises not as Set, but as something else entirely: a super-powered, immortal being with the eyes of a god. The film ends with Jekyll and Prodigium horrified that they now have a new, uncontrollable monster on their hands, setting the stage for a "Dark Universe" that, ultimately, never came to pass.
