Unlike the others, this is a prequel. It takes place in 2003 (and flashbacks to 1974). A group of friends gets stuck in a blizzard and takes shelter in an abandoned sanitarium. They accidentally free the cannibal family (as children) and learn why they became monsters. Set in a snowy landscape, this is the coldest and creepiest entry. The cannibals terrorize a small town during a festival. It attempts to expand the scope beyond the woods. The Hindi Dubbed Experience: Critics often rate this as the weakest in the series, but it has a distinct "creature feature" vibe.
