Shifting gears into satire and extreme gore, the second installment follows a group of reality TV contestants participating in a post-apocalyptic survival show. Unbeknownst to them, they have set up camp right in the hunting grounds of the cannibal family, which has now expanded.

Unlike the others, this is a prequel. It takes place in 2003 (and flashbacks to 1974). A group of friends gets stuck in a blizzard and takes shelter in an abandoned sanitarium. They accidentally free the cannibal family (as children) and learn why they became monsters. Set in a snowy landscape, this is the coldest and creepiest entry.
